Spring is in full bloom and what better way to celebrate this glorious season than with some runway inspired hair trends just in time to get inspired for the Spring Racing Carnival.
This year has seen MSFW 2015 second designer runway, eloquently titled Modern Love, rejoice romance. We fell in love with modern shapes and patterns. Intricate lace, floral prints, blush and golden hues took centre stage on the runway with a combination of refined and playful Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collections, showcased by the leading Australian designers and some of the good ol’ favourites, such as Alexi Freeman, Asilio, Bless’ed are the Meek, Búl, Gorman, Kuwaii, Leonard St., Limedrop, Matcho Suba and YB J’aime.
To juxtapose the sweetness of the playful apparel, the hair took a different direction. Inspired by the 70’s, as well as, the ‘It Girl’, Bridgette Bardot, Kevin Murphy team worked wonders to channel this French bombshell iconic hair do. Jelena, our resident stylist, and part of the Kevin Murphy crew, assisted Kevin in transforming the models to channel the 70’s glam and sass.
Here is simple step-by-step guide how to get the look using Kevin Murphy’s Murphy’s range:
PRIME: Apply KEVIN.MURPHY BODY.BUILDER to damp hair and dry in to create volume and texture. Divide the hair into two sections securing the bottom into a ponytail at the nape of the neck
PREP: Prep the hair with KEVIN.MURPHY SESSION.SPRAY. Use a large tong through the top of the hair to create a wave and then wave the ponytail. Back comb the crown and create a centre part, drape the hair over the ear and secure with a hair bungie or bobby pins
FINISH: Apply KEVIN.MURPHY POWDER.PUFF to the mid-lengths and ends to add texture and then finish with KEVIN.MURPHY SHIMMER.SHINE.
