Q. When did you first realise you wanted to become a hairstylist and where did you start?
Vince: From a very young age, my uncle Jim was a barber so his influence ignited my passion for hairdressing. I spent a lot of my time in his salon on school holidays sweeping up the salon and watching him cut hair. Still to this day he does a ripper cut!
Q. If you had chosen another profession, what would it have been?
Vince: An Actor or a character in a theme park / Movie World or Disneyland!!
Q. Tell me what you think the biggest challenge in a hairdressing career is?
Vince: To be respected by your peers in the industry and also keeping updated with fashion and trends.
Q. What is your greatest strength as a hairdresser?
Vince: My passion for cutting. To create looks incorporating the image and look of a client.
Q. What is the most enjoyable part of working at Preen?
Vince: Working alongside my friends. We have all worked together for over 10 years and coming to work every day is a pleasure!
Q. What would your salon work colleagues say about you?
Vince: Passionate and finds humor in many things! Very random and funny!
Q. What’s the secret to a good haircut?
Vince: Good shape, balance, the right amount of texture and cutting to suit their style / face shape!

Vince: Classic sharp styles with modern funky twists!!
Q. What’s the strangest place you’ve ever cut hair?
Vince: One of my clients Bev Sheridan who’s hair I’ve been cutting for 100 years had a very serious back injury. So I went over to her house and cut her hair whilst she was laying on a bean bag! still to this day Bev tells me that it was the best cut she has ever had! Maybe we should start a bean bag salon?? lol
Q. If you could cut anyone’s hair who would it be and why?
Vince: Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow! Could u imagine the conversation??
Q. What tips can you give to up and coming hairstylists?
Vince: Be patient, persistent and always strive to be better even when you reach your peak. Find a great mentor to work with to challenge and help create greatness in you.
